Two people were found shot dead in Queens on Saturday morning in a suspected murder-suicide, police reported.
Law enforcement sources said the deaths occurred at about 2:44 a.m. on Oct. 21 at a home on the 7300 block of 69th Place, off of Cooper Avenue, in Glendale.
Officers from the 104th Precinct made the gruesome discovery inside the living room of a second-floor apartment after being called to the scene to investigate shots fired.
Police located a 39-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man, both with gunshot wounds to their heads. Officers located a firearm next to the wounded man.
Based on a preliminary investigation, sources familiar with the case said, it’s believed the woman and man were in an intimate relationship. Police suspect that the man shot the woman before turning the gun on himself.
Responding EMS units pronounced both victims dead at the scene. The NYPD has withheld their identities, pending family notification.
The investigation remains ongoing, police said.
The 104th Precinct has seen just four shooting incidents year-to-date through Oct. 15, according to the most recent CompStat report. That’s down from the seven shootings tallied at the same point in 2022.
