Amherst police will collect nonperishable food items for families in need from residents who leave items on their doorsteps Nov. 6 to 11.
The Police Department has partnered with FeedMore WNY to conduct the holiday season food drive.
Residents are encouraged to put the food items in a bag and place it on their porch, then call the department at 716-689-1322 to inform them. An officer on duty will come to collect the donation.
The department is also collecting donations at their headquarters at 500 John James Audubon Parkway .
