Several injured after runaway driver crashes into MTA bus in Brooklyn: NYPD

A car fleeing the police collided with an MTA bus in Brooklyn on Tuesday afternoon, the NYPD said.

Officers responded to a dispute involving a firearm when two people got into a car and took off, police said. As they were fleeing, they hit an MTA bus at the intersection of McDonald Avenue and Avenue N in Midwood, officers said.

The FDNY reported that firefighters removed both people trapped in the vehicle, and police said one was taken into custody.

In total, seven people were injured and taken to area hospitals, according to the FDNY. Police reported that the bus driver, bus passengers and both people in the runaway vehicle all sustained minor injuries.

An investigation is ongoing, police said.
