OGDENSBURG — Athletes, coaches, sports teams and a contributor were inducted into Ogdensburg’s Class of 2023 Hall of Fame ceremony held earlier this fall at OFA.
2023 coaches: Chuck Ladouceur for coaching JV Baseball from 1975-2004 with a record of 315 wins, 71 losses; Mike Sargent, for over 40 years coaching baseball and basketball, with more than 1,000 wins as a Blue Devil player and coach; Tim Valley for coaching OFA football for over 20 years, with a 165-27-7 record.
Individual athletes inducted: David Cole ’81 for football, hockey, and track; Don Kelso ’58 for basketball, football and baseball; Harold Myers ’69 for basketball, football and baseball and fundraising nearly $100,000 for OFA and Boys & Girls Club sports programs: Mike Deschamps ’74, for OFA track and field, and football; Tom DuPre ’77 for basketball and football; and Diane Para ’82 for soccer, volleyball, basketball, softball, bowling and track at OFA and a 34-year career at SUNY Canton serving as coach and athletic director.
Outstanding Contributor Volunteer award was given to Larry Mitchell for volunteering over 50 years in Kiwanis Baseball, over 30 years as scoreboard operator and P.A. announcer and 20 years on the Recreation Commission.
Teams selected for the Hall of Fame were ’73 & ’74 Cross Country, and ’77 Boys Basketball.
