Last-second goal gives New Hartford dramatic 3-2 win over Westhill in Section III Class A girls soccer title game

Cortland, N.Y. — Olivia Vitullo scored a long, looping goal with 19.4 seconds left to lift the New Hartford girls soccer team to a 3-2 win over Westhill in the Section III Class A title game Friday night at SUNY Cortland.

Vitullo’s goal was New Hartford’s second of the second half and gives the Spartans (17-0-1) their third-straight sectional crown. Westhill, last year’s Class B titlist, finishes 15-3-1.

The score was the the second of the season for Vitullo. The Spartans are now 74-1-3 over the last four seasons.
