A local wish-granting charity organization will hold its annual winter holiday season fundraising event Thursday at Big Ditch Brewing Co., 55 E. Huron St.
The Buffalo Wishes program is sponsored by Little Match Girl Foundation. The program collects, wraps and delivers gifts that are matched to the personal wish lists of underprivileged children.
Every October, Enterprise Charter School students submit their top gift and school supply wishes to the charity. Once the lists are compiled, Buffalo Wishes participants are able to go online and select a student to sponsor.
Participants are encouraged to spend a minimum of $50 per student, but many donors tend to be more generous, according to Buffalo attorney Brian R. Biggie, who launched Buffalo Wishes in 2005 and then formed Little Match Girl Ltd. in 2014 as the nonprofit home for the program.
Unwrapped gifts will be accepted through Dec. 15 at Enterprise Charter School, 275 Oak St.; the offices of Gerber Ciano Kelly Brady LLP, 599 Delaware Ave., Suite 100; and Aleron Group, 250 International Drive, Williamsville. Volunteers from Little Match Girl Foundation will wrap the gifts and deliver them to the students in time for the holidays.
