The Stars & Stripes Democratic Club, a prominent political organization in Bensonhurst, Dyker Heights, Bath Beach and Sunset Park, recently held a fundraiser aimed at supporting local elections. The club has been an active political force in the area since its founding in 1965 and is known for its commitment to promoting democratic ideals.
The Brooklyn legal community, which traditionally backs the clubโs endeavors, turned out in significant numbers to show their support on Wednesday, Oct. 11 on 15th Avenue.
The club is operated by District Leaders Joseph Bova and Victoria Kelly, representing the 49th Election District in Brooklyn, along with President Irene Chu.ย
Chu, a Bensonhurst resident, has been deeply involved in local Chinese communities through her roles as a journalist, a community liaison for Assemblyman Peter Abbate and a member of Community Board 11.
The Stars & Stripes Democratic Club has been instrumental in electing officials at local and state levels. These fundraisers not only provide essential support for candidates but also unite community members under the banner of shared democratic values.
The recent fundraiser is part of the clubโs sustained efforts to contribute to the electoral landscape and to uphold the democratic process in these Brooklyn neighborhoods.
