STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Although trick-or-treaters will return home to savor their sweet bounty, and Halloween will come to an end, frighteningly cool air will linger for some time, bringing about the coldest temperatures since spring.
Despite festivities being spared from rainfall Tuesday afternoon, cool temperatures were felt across the Island, as the dayโs high sat at 56 degrees, according to the Staten Island Advance/SILive.com weather station. However, the worst is yet to come, as a blast of Canadian air will continue to haunt the region, bringing city temperatures to a low of 42 in the evening, according to AccuWeather.

Now, a few days later, the low is to sit at 36, a departure of more than 25 degrees; the day marking the coldest temperatures in NYC since early April, according to Senior Meteorologist for AccuWeather Dave Dombek.
