The United Way of Seneca County is inviting the public to a comprehensive Health & Volunteer Fair on November 17, aiming to bolster community wellness and volunteerism. Scheduled from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Seneca Falls Recreation Center, the event will feature over 60 local and regional organizations offering insights into various services and volunteer opportunities throughout the region.
The fair will highlight the eight Dimensions of Wellness: physical, emotional, financial, social, spiritual, environmental, intellectual, and occupational, ensuring a holistic approach to well-being as the community heads into the winter and holiday seasons. โIt is really important to take care of ourselves,โ stated Karen Burcroff, Project Director of the Seneca County Substance Abuse Coalition. This event, aiming to educate on available local services and resources, anticipates bringing together community members and service providers.
Event-goers will have access to an array of free services, including flu shots, Narcan with training, prescription drug disposal, and health screenings. The event promises activities for all ages, such as Safe Child IDs for kids, car seat checks, and wellness demonstrations like Zumba and yoga. The โTaste of Soulโ food truck will cater to those seeking dinner options, and attendees can participate in a raffle with prizes sponsored by United Health Care and other vendors. For more information, participants are encouraged to visit the United Way of Seneca Countyโs Facebook page.
