OGDENSBURG — ACT Children’s Theater, located in Ogdensburg, is preparing for their fall production, entitled “The Epic Quest of the Damsels in Distress.”
This full-length play written for elementary students features a cast of 34 students from five different North Country school districts, including two homeschooled students as well.
“The Epic Quest of the Damsels in Distress” tells the tale of maiden Isadora, lady-in-waiting Beatrice, forest witch Winifred, and mysterious bandit Talia as they go on an adventure through the enchanted woods.
On their quest, they meet a fierce dragon, a narcissistic gladiator, a monstrous beast, and a chauvinistic prince.
Along the way, they prove that girls can do anything boys can do and then some. Full of fun, action, and tons of humor, this play will delight audiences of all ages.
“This is the largest elementary cast we have ever had,” says Christopher Dwyer, the show’s director. “We have many returning cast members this time, but also over a dozen who have never done a production with ACT before. It’s a wonderful cast and I can’t wait for the audiences to come see the show!”
Starring in “Damsels” are Olivia Caruso, Vada Knapp, Emersyn Lowry, Madison Hibbard, Rozalyn Dwyer, Melody Bouchard, Angelia Mason, Abigail Bouchard, Gia Bouchard, Colbie Frank, Myra Montroy, Allora Messina, Georgiana Wells, Agnes Follete, Ashton Lowes, Sophia Burdick, Jace Durham, Letti Gage, Declan Heaton, Savannah Cardinal, Lachlan Demers, Delaney Merna, Julianna Lamina, Alexa Bouchard, Eliana Dwyer, Alice Wells, Skylar Rhodes, and Blaire Thornton from Ogdensburg.
Also starring are Halayna Biller and Logan Abar from Heuvelton, Alana Wood from Morristown, Emily and Elliot Johnson from Canton, and Alex Backus from Madrid-Waddington.
The show runs on Wednesday, Nov. 15 and Thursday, Nov. 16 at 6 p.m. in the John F. Kennedy Elementary School cafetorium, located at 801-809 Park St.
