Autoworkers at Ford Motor Co.’s stamping plant in Hamburg have voted overwhelmingly in favor of a tentative deal with the company.
Production workers at the Route 5 plant voted 288 to 82 in favor of the deal, while skilled trades workers voted 183 to 45 in favor, according to a vote tracker by Automotive News.
UAW Local 897 represents 749 hourly workers at the plant.
Voting continues on the UAW-Ford deal at locals around the country. Ford has pledged to invest $80 million in the Hamburg plant as part of the deal.
Meanwhile, workers at two area General Motors plants are preparing to vote on the UAW’s tentative deal with GM.
Members of Local 774 at the Tonawanda engine plant are scheduled to vote Nov. 13, and members of Local 686 at the Lockport components plant are scheduled to vote Nov. 15.
GM has pledged to invest $300 million in the Tonawanda plant as part of the tentative deal. The automaker affirmed a previous commitment to invest $154 million in the Lockport site.
