WASHINGTON D.C.- On October 7, members of the Hamas terrorist organization brutally murdered more than 1,400 Israelis and captured hundreds more. Among those captives are Gadi Haggai, 73, and Judih Weinstein Haggai, 70, who was born in Goshen. The couple has dual United States/Israel citizenship and Congressman Pat Ryan (D, NY-18) has joined the fight to return them home.
As first reported by the New York Post, relatives say the couple was taking their usual morning walk outside Kibbutz Nir Oz when they were ambushed by armed Hamas terrorists on motorcycles. Following the attack, Judih was able to make a phone call for help, but they haven’t been seen since.
Ofri Haggai, the couple’s niece, reached out to Congressman Ryan for help. She recently met with Ryan and other lawmakers in Washington D.C. to call for the government’s assistance in locating her aunt and uncle.
“We can’t forget those we’ve lost and all still held captive,” said Ryan. “I won’t stop pushing until they are free.”
