Democrats win supervisor’s race in Town of Highland

HIGHLAND- Democrats in the Town of Highland celebrated a win on election night, beating the incumbent town supervisor in a rematch of the 2021 election.

Different from two years ago, Republican incumbent Jeff Haas fell to Democratic challenger John Pizzolato by a margin of around nine percent.  Hass beat Pizzolato in 2021 by only a 20-vote margin.

Two council seats were up for grabs.  One was secured by Democrat Laura Burrell with 423 votes, and the other by Republican Thomas Migliorino with 399 votes.

The Highway Superintendent’s race, which was also contested, resulted in Democratic challenger Joe Barns emerging ahead of Republican candidate James Akt and Conservative candidate Orson Davis.
