NYPD: Man, 38, stabbed in robbery on Staten Island; suspect remains at large

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A 38-year-old man was stabbed during a robbery early on Thursday morning in Clifton, according to police.

The 38-year-old man was taken in stable condition to Staten Island University Hospital in Ocean Breeze following the violent robbery that occurred around 12:25 a.m. in the 100 block of Park Hill Avenue, according to a spokesman for the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information.

An individual approached, displayed a knife or other sharp object and then demanded money from the victim, according to preliminary information supplied to the police spokesman.

The individual then allegedly stabbed the 38-year-old man in the torso before using force to remove about $400 in cash from the victim and then fleeing on foot, the police spokesman said.

The individual sought for questioning is described by police as a male with a dark complexion wearing black clothing.

No arrests have been made and the investigation continues, the police spokesman said.
