Penn Yan man arrested twice within weeks: Now faces felony drug charges

Gregory S. Jackson, 51, of Penn Yan, has been arrested by local police on charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, a class C felony.

This arrest follows an incident on October 2, where Jackson was stopped by police after leaving an area under surveillance.

During the stop, Jackson was found in possession of a substance later confirmed to be methamphetamine, weighing 1.72 grams.

Following lab confirmation, Jackson was taken into custody on November 9 and released with an appearance ticket for Penn Yan Village Court.

This recent charge is not Jacksonโ€™s first encounter with the law for similar offenses.

He faces an additional count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, related to an incident at a local establishment on September 24. In this instance, Jackson was again found with a substance that was sent for lab testing and ultimately identified as methamphetamine, weighing 1.27 grams.

Jackson has been issued appearance tickets for both incidents and is scheduled to appear in Penn Yan Village Court at a later date.
