The Syracuse Orange trailed 24-3 early in the third quarter but battled back, scoring 19 consecutive points and making it a two-point game with under eight minutes remaining in regulation. However, Georgia Tech scored with just over two minutes left and held on for a 31-22 victory, dropping the Orange to 5-6 on the season.
Syracuse used another heavy-run attack, running for over 200 yards. LeQuint Allen carried the ball 27 times for 120 yards and two touchdowns. Dan Villari also ran one in for a score and finished with 81 yards on 12 carries.
The Orange defense forced two turnovers but gave up 372 yards of total offense, 192 of which came on the ground.

Syracuse will look to get to bowl eligibility next week at home against Wake Forest in the regular season finale. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
