Two hurt in single-car accident in Danby

A one-car crash on Nelson Road on Friday afternoon led to two people being transported to the hospital, according to the Danby Volunteer Fire Company. The accident, which occurred around 1 p.m., involved a car striking a utility pole and subsequently ending up in a nearby ditch. Emergency response teams were quick to arrive at the scene, with the Danby Volunteer Fire Company EMTs providing immediate medical care.

The injured parties were transported by Bangs Ambulance for further treatment. The extent of their injuries was not immediately disclosed. The response to the crash necessitated the closure of Nelson Road for about an hour. This period allowed for an investigation by the Tompkins County Sheriffโ€™s Office and New York State Police, as well as the removal of the damaged vehicle by Charlieโ€™s Towing and Repair.
