Syracuse man faces several felony charges after being found with fentanyl, cocaine, and other drugs on Arterial

Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenck announced the arrest of a Syracuse man on multiple drug charges following a traffic stop in Auburn.

Jerrell A. Brown, 35, faces two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a B felony, and one count of possession in the fourth degree, a C felony.

The arrest occurred on November 23, 2023, during a DWI enforcement operation by the Cayuga County Sheriffโ€™s Office Patrol Division. Deputies stopped Brownโ€™s vehicle on Arterial West near North Fulton Street in Auburn. Upon approaching the vehicle, deputies spotted what seemed to be illegal drugs, leading to a further investigation and search of the vehicle and Brown.

The search resulted in the seizure of 90 glassine envelopes of fentanyl, 5.3 grams of cocaine, and a significant amount of dimethylpentylone, commonly known as โ€œMollyโ€.

Following the discovery, Brown was taken into custody and processed at the PSB, before being transferred to the Cayuga County Jail for arraignment.

The Sheriffโ€™s Office was assisted by the Finger Lakes Drug Taskforce, the Cayuga County Sheriff K9 Unit, the Cayuga County E-911 Center, and the Auburn Police Department in this operation.
