Congressman Brandon Williams, the Republican who represents New York’s 22nd District, was involved in a heated altercation at a holiday party. The altercation, which was caught on video obtained by CitrusTV, involved Michael Gordan—the Congressman’s former campaign manager.
The incident shows Williams in a verbal confrontation with Gordon, who managed his 2022 congressional campaign.
In the video, Williams is seen pointing his finger and shouting at Gordon, warning him against interfering with his family. The confrontation was briefly interrupted by a woman, after which Williams appears to knock down the recording phone, held by another former staffer, Ryan Sweeney.
Williams’ office released a statement following the incident, explaining that both Gordon and Sweeney were previously dismissed by the Congressman. The statement alleges that the former staffers made disrespectful comments about Williams’ female family members and were involved in physical and media confrontations with him. The office emphasized Williams’ background as a former nuclear submarine officer and his reputation for poise and temperament, underscoring the gravity of the situation involving his family.
The altercation took place at an event hosted by the lobbying firm BGR Group at the International Spy Museum.
