There will be plenty of maple treats, crafting activities, and opportunities to learn about New York’s state tree and its sap at this family-friendly event. Educational booths will highlight Indigenous, home and modern practices for collecting sap and creating maple syrup.
Satisfy your sweet tooth while you’re there with ice cream and maple syrup from Maplewood Farms. You may want to get there early, as supplies will be limited.
The event takes place on Saturday, March 25, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine. Admission is $3 per person; children age 5 and younger are admitted for free.
Grafton Lakes State Park is located off of Route 2, 12 miles east of Troy. Use the park’s main entrance on Grafton Lakes State Park Way for this event. For more information, call the park at 518-279-1155.
This isn’t the only maple event this weekend. Check our roundup of maple weekend activities.
