Whitesboro football falls short of history with loss to Somers in Class A state final

Syracuse, N.Y. — Somers quarterback William Sullivan threw four touchdown passes to carry the Tuskers to a 35-6 win over Whitesboro in the state Class A title game Saturday in the JMA Wireless Dome.

Section Iโ€™s Somers (12-2) repeated as state champions while Whitesboro (12-2) came up short in its bid to claim its first-ever state crown in the sport.

Dean Palazzolo caught three touchdown passes for Somers, including two in the first half when the Tuskers knocked Whitesboro on its heels and took a 21-0 lead.
