Two Queens cops were hospitalized early Sunday morning after being attacked by a knife-wielding suspect, sources said.
Sources familiar with the investigation told amNewYork Metro that officers responded to a 467 Beach 22nd St. in Far Rockaway at around 5:40 a.m. on Dec. 3, after receiving reports of a person wielding a knife during a domestic dispute.
Upon arrival, sources reported, a knife-wielding suspect attacked the two officers, leaving them with serious injuries. EMS rushed the pair to Jamaica Hospital, and the extent of their injuries currently remains unknown.
Though the details are still unfolding, preliminary reports indicated that other police officers shot the suspect, then discovering additional victims at the location with multiple injuries. Some of those injured were believed to be in critical condition.
Neighbors described hearing the gunshots and seeing the massive police presence converge upon the scene.
“I heard pop pop pop,” one neighbor said. “It woke me up out my sleep and then I heard the sirens. It is scary.”
Police are asking the public to remain clear of the area as they continue to investigate the incident.
