Forget an Aaron Rodgers comeback, Jets’ biggest question after Falcons loss: Will they win another game?

The ultimate fantasy for the Jets was has somehow stayed alive for the last month, even as the losses began to pile up: that somehow this team could stay afloat long enough for Aaron Rodgers to make an improbable comeback from his Week 1 torn Achilles, and perhaps lead them to the playoffs.

It turns out, the Jets staying in the playoff race was less realistic than Rodgers’ comeback.

The Jets lost 13-8 to a mediocre Falcons team on Sunday, dropping their fifth straight and essentially ending their slim hopes of making the playoffs — even if the Jets (4-8) run the table and win their final five games to finish 9-8, their chances are less than 15 percent of making the postseason.

And even Rodgers knows that likely means his season is over: the 40-year-old quarterback acknowledged Thursday that “it wouldn’t make any sense” for him to return if the Jets fell out of playoff contention.

Of course, the idea of the Jets winning five straight seems far less likely now than the idea of them losing out to finish the season with 10 straight losses.

If the first 12 games of the season have proven anything, it’s that Zach Wilson, Tim Boyle, and Trevor Siemian are not the answer. Siemian became the Jets’ fourth quarterback to play this season, starting the fourth quarter after Boyle was benched because of a horrible interception.

He had his chances, including the chance to lead a game winning drive in the final two minutes. But he couldn’t even get a pass off down field on third and fourth down as the game came to a fitting end — once again, without the Jets scoring an offensive touchdown.

And with five games left with those three quarterbacks at the helm, it’s hard to see this getting better before it gets worse.

So will the Jets win again? Here’s our projection of the final six games.

Dec. 10 vs. Texans: C.J. Stroud has nearly as many touchdowns in the first 12 games of his rookie season (20) as Zach Wilson had in the first 32 games of his career (21). It will…
