STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Police responded to a report of shots fired in West Brighton Monday afternoon, according to police.
The incident was reported around 4:30 p.m. in the vicinity of Forest Avenue and Broadway, said a spokesman for the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information.
A witness told police they saw three individuals fleeing westbound on foot on Forest Avenue, the spokesman said.
The individuals are described as a male wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants and brown sneakers; a second male wearing tan pants and white sneakers; and a third male wearing all black clothing and a black facemask.
Police could be seen at the location, while the sidewalk was roped off with police tape.
No injuries were reported and an investigation is ongoing, the spokesman said.
