Steuben County finalizes new contract with deputies

Steuben County, in collaboration with the Deputies Association of the County of Steuben, has successfully finalized a multi-year contract for its law enforcement officers, covering the period from 2021 to 2024.

This new agreement, backed unanimously by the County Legislature and voted in favorably by the Association, ensures fair retroactive pay increases and competitive salaries for the coming year.

Matthew Sorge, President of the Deputies Association, expressed gratitude towards the County administration and the County Legislature for their unanimous support in establishing fair and competitive wages.

The agreement was reached through strong community support and ongoing communication, highlighting a collaborative effort to address the needs of the countyโ€™s law enforcement personnel.

Steuben County Manager Jack Wheeler acknowledged the challenges inherent in negotiations but praised the amicable and equitable resolution reached. He emphasized the Countyโ€™s appreciation for the leadership of the Deputies Association and its members, reaffirming the Countyโ€™s commitment to working as a unified team.
