Syracuse, N.Y. — Elijah Robinson will not encourage his Texas A&M players to follow him to Syracuse football, he said during a media call for the Texas Bowl on Tuesday evening.
“Those guys have to make a decision on their own to get in the portal,” Robinson said. “I will not at any point say, ‘Hey, come with me.’ That’s not the way I do things.”

He emphasized how important it was to him to close out his six-year stretch with Texas A&M “the right way” multiple times during the media call. He has been coaching the Aggies defensive line since 2018.
Robinson said he had a “few” schools who offered him the defensive coordinator role and asked each one if he would be able to finish out the 2023 season with Texas A&M. Every one was accommodating, he said.
