Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz charged Ozone Park resident Shahab Usman, 40, with rape, assault and robbery for attacks at three spas in South Richmond Hill over the last week.
According to prosecutors, Usman attempted to rape a female employee at gunpoint on Dec. 4, firing the gun and striking a patron in the next room — a 52-year-old man who officials say is now paralyzed from the waist down.
Earlier that day Usman allegedly raped a female employee at gunpoint at another nearby spa on Jamaica Avenue. He is charged with stealing cash from her.
And on Dec. 2, Usman allegedly beat and robbed another spa employee on Liberty Avenue.
A fourth incident, on Nov. 26, is still under investigation. NYPD officials said Usman and another man entered another spa on Jamaica Avenue with a gun and knife demanding money from three women.
Usman was arrested on Dec. 5. Prosecutors say they are still investigating.
Usman has pleaded not guilty and is being held without bail. His lawyer did not immediately respond to inquiries.
