Senior Shadrach Akakeya had a double-double (14 points, 24 rebounds) for a second straight game and Petrides raced to an early lead and cruised to a 76-52 PSAL AAA victory over host New Dorp on Thursday.
Charles Steele finished with a career-high 29 points and 10 assists while Jaden Allyson added 21 markers (three three-pointers) for the Panthers, who not only won their fifth straight, but improved to 6-2 overall (4-1 overall).
