Police have identified the man who was allegedly beaten to death by his cab driver on a Brooklyn street early Thursday, as the cabbie remains on the loose.

NYPD officials said 66-year-old Carlos Guaman died from his injuries after getting into a physical fight with the driver of a for-hire vehicle that he and his cousin had ordered around 4:30 a.m.

Police said the dispute started over the fare, and the taxi was not an Uber, Lyft or yellow cab.

As the argument escalated, police said the driver and his passengers got out of the cab in front of 1968 W. 9th Street in Bensonhurst, and the driver punched both men in the head until they were unconscious. The driver then hopped back into his vehicle and drove off, cops said.

First responders took Guaman and his 52-year-old cousin to Maimonides Medical Center, where Guaman was pronounced dead. His cousin remains in critical but stable condition.

Police are still investigating the incident, and have not made any arrests.

This is a developing story and may be updated.
