Geneva man charged with assault, child endangerment, and contempt after two incidents on same day

Police arrested a Geneva man on assault and child endangerment charges after two crime-in-progress investigations.

Police were dispatched to an incident on December 2 where a victim under the age of 17 was injured.

Matthew Haws, 37, of Geneva is accused of intentionally causing physical injury to a minor.

Haws was arraigned on third-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child charges.

He was also arrested for second-degree criminal contempt on the same day for violating an active court order.

Police listed the two arrests as separate incidents.

They will be answered at a later date.
