MASSENA — A Massena man was arrested Thursday, Dec. 7 on multiple drug charges and traffic violations, and police seized drugs and thousands of dollars in cash after the collar.
Massena Police charged 37-year-old Matthew P. McLean with second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance: methamphetamine over 2 ounces, second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance: stimulant over 10 grams, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance: 1/8 oz. methamphetamine intent to sell, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance: narcotic intent to sell, all felonies.
He was also charged with second-degree criminal use drug paraphernalia: scales and second-degree criminal use drug paraphernalia: packaging, both misdemeanors.
Police also charged McLean with reckless driving, failure to obey a police officer, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operator, five counts of failure to stop at a stop sign, failure to comply with lawful order and unreasonable speed.
Police seized 80.3 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 37 packets of fentanyl, a digital scale, packaging material and $3,901.44 of U.S. currency.
McLean was arraigned in Massena town court and remanded to the St. Lawrence County jail on no bail.
