Hamilton, N.Y. – The Colgate Raiders claimed a win over the Le Moyne College women’s basketball team on Friday evening in an exciting non-conference contest at Colgate’s Cotterell Court.
After trailing 39-32 at halftime, Le Moyne outscored Colgate 13-8 in the third period, then took a 51-50 lead with 6:17 left in the fourth, but Colgate responded with a 9-0 run between the 3:55 and 1:01 marks of the final quarter to earn a 65-57 victory.
Graduate guard Sydney Lusher (Oneida, N.Y./Oneida) scored a game-high 17 points for the Dolphins with three assists, while fifth-year guard Lytoya Baker (Rochester, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) tallied her third consecutive double-double with 14 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two steals.
With 598 career rebounds, Baker is now tied with former teammate Jenna Zimmerman for the ninth-most career rebounds by a Le Moyne player.
Sophomore guard Kaia Goode (Rochester, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) was the third Le Moyne player to score in double figures with 10 points to go along with three assists and two steals.
Freshman guard Leah Middleton (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn) scored eight points for the ‘Phins, while junior forward Brianna Williams (Brampton, Ontario/Southwest Academy/Hartford) pulled down five rebounds.
Colgate fifth-year guard Alexa Brodie led the Raiders in scoring with 16 points and added three assists. Junior guard Taylor Golembiewski contributed 14 points, four rebounds, two assists and a steal.
Junior forward Sophia Diehl grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds with eight points, three assists and a steal.
The Dolphins will return to action on Saturday, December 16 at University at Buffalo.
