STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Park renovation plans and a proposal to move a hospital’s behavioral health facility will be reviewed this week as two of Staten Island’s three Community Boards hold public meetings.
Community Board 1
Community Board 1 will hold a meeting of its full board on Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 6 :30 p.m. on the Wagner College campus.
New York State Sen. Jessica Scarcella-Spanton will address the board, as will Nicole Brooks, project manager for the city Parks Department. Additionally, representatives from the department’s Revenue Division will present a design for the outdoor patio at a Parks Department facility, the Stone House at Clove Lakes Park.
The meeting will be held in the Manzulli Board Room of Foundation Hall, 170 Campus Rd. Parking is available in the Spiro Parking Lot. For additional parking, go to the main entrance at 631 Howard Ave. for instructions.
Community Board 2
The Parks & Environmental Protection Committee and the Health Services Committee will both meet on Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 7 p.m. at 900 South Ave.
Design plans for the Midland Playground will be presented by representatives from the city Parks Department during the Parks Committee meeting.
During the Health Services Committee meeting, representatives of Richmond University Medical Center (RUMC) will discuss the plan to relocate the hospital’s OASAS-Certified Behavioral Health Adolescent Program from 444 St. Marks Place to 1130 South Ave.
This location currently houses RUMC’s Center for Integrative Medicine and is already an established behavioral health facility in the community. Relocating the program to 1130 South Ave. will make it more easily accessible to adolescents on the South Shore, according to hospital representatives.
Community Board 3
Community Board 3 has no meetings scheduled for this week.
