In Livingston County, a harrowing case of abuse has reached an important conclusion in local court.
John R. Litolff, 38, has been convicted of sexually assaulting of a 10-year-old girl in the town of Livonia.
The juryโs decision, reached after a four-day trial, found Litolff guilty of predatory sexual assault against a child and first-degree sexual abuse.
This verdict opens the door for a sentence that could be as severe as 25 years to life in prison.
The assault, which took place in January and February of 2018, was initially reported to the Livingston County Sheriffโs Office by the child and her family in May of the same year.
However, a full investigation into the matter did not commence until earlier this year, following renewed contact from the family to the Sheriffโs Office.
Litolff is now awaiting sentencing, scheduled for February 8, 2024.
