Staten Island Children’s Museum hosting several holiday festivities

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The Staten Island Children’s Museum is hosting indoor-festive enjoyment for families throughout the month of December, with several interactive exhibits and more.

Guests can engage with skilled teaching artists, who will lead workshops to guide children in different areas of scientific marvels, culinary delights, and arts and literature.

The season kicked off on Saturday with a Crazy Science Lab of snow-themed experiments.

The festivities will continue with three ShopRite “Kids Cook” workshops, which will take place on Sunday, Dec. 10, Saturday, Dec. 23, and Thursday, Dec. 28.

The “Kids Cook” workshop will allow young chefs to make delicious dishes including vegan chili, udon soup, apple ginger engird balls, and help develop children’s cooking concepts. These sessions will be held at 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m.

On Sunday Dec. 17, the New York Children’s Theater Company will come to the museum from 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m., for Literature at Play to bring children’s stories to life.

IlluminArt Productions will host an arts and crafts workshop at the museum on Wednesday, Dec. 27. Participants will create hot cocoa magnets. There are various sessions beginning at 12 p.m. and ending at 3 p.m.

The museum will be open every day from Tuesday, Dec. 26, to Sunday, Dec. 31, for Winter Break, so students can enjoy several holiday activities.

During the week, “Noon Year’s Eve” Countdown celebration party on Sunday, Dec. 31, with two countdowns at 12 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Registration for the celebration is required.

Children can also be registered to participate in Holiday Fun Camp from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the break. Details are available on SIChildrensMuseum.org.
