Nominate that special woman as a holiday gift as deadline nears | From the editor

Hi Neighbor,

Searching for that special holiday gift for that special woman? The woman who goes above and beyond to better our community.

We have a suggestion, and itโ€™ll cost you nothing.

Nominate her for consideration as a Staten Island Advance Woman of Achievement.

But do it fast. The deadline to nominate is Friday, December 22.

The Women of Achievement program is brought to you by the Advance/SILive.com and Richmond University Medical Center, with support from the Staten Island Foundation and Jewish Community Center.

A Staten Island Woman of Achievement might go above and beyond making life better for the developmentally disabled. Or those in long-term hospital or nursing home care. She might go above and beyond in working with those hungry or homeless. Or above and beyond in working to better our environment, or with our stray animal population. The cause is really wide open. Itโ€™s the work the woman does with little or no additional compensation, beyond doing good

Email nominations are preferable. Send them to [email protected].

Or if you prefer mail:

Just a few musts:

1. Make your nomination as detailed as possible. What has your candidate done to make our hometown better? Why should our judges name her a Staten Island Woman of Achievement?

2. Include her name, address and telephone number.

3. Include your name, address and telephone number so we can follow up, if needed.

The Staten Island Advance has been honoring women who work to better our community for more than 60 years. Honorees will be announced in February and will be feted at a gala luncheon May 9, 2024.

But the deadline to nominate is this December 22.

Donโ€™t wait!
