An alleged pimp who goes by the street name “Chinchilla” was busted in Brooklyn for allegedly sex trafficking two women, including a 15-year-old girl, and forcing them to sell their bodies on the street for his personal profit.
Terrence Reid, 43, of Hempstead was arraigned on Dec. 12 before Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Danny Chun, where he was charged with sex trafficking of a child, sex trafficking, attempted sex trafficking, second-, third-, and fourth-degree promoting prostitution, and endangering the welfare of a child.
Reid faces up to 25 years behind bars if convicted, according to Brooklyn DA Eric Gonzalez.
According to the investigation, Reid struck up a conversation with the teenage victim on Instagram in 2022, before meeting her at her aunt’s home in Brooklyn in May 2023, when he first roped her into his prostitution scheme.
The girl, according to the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office, had been “going through challenges at home” when the ordeal began.
After meeting her in person, Reid took the teen, along with a 26-year-old woman, to a hotel in the East Orange section of New Jersey, where he took several semi-nude photos of them, and posted them to an online website used to facilitate prostitution.
While the older victim began engaging in sex work inside the New Jersey hotel, the teenager did not — until the trio moved back to New York City, and held up in a hotel in Queens.
Reid then allegedly took the two women along a prostitution street track on Pennsylvania Avenue, where they were forced to walk around the area all night, until around 7 a.m. the following morning, looking for customers.
