BULLETIN…Stabbing at Middletown school

MIDDLETOWN – Police have converged on the Monhegan Middle School-Maple Hill Elementary School campus on Orange County Route 78 this morning for a stabbing. It happened minutes before 8 a.m.

School district officials said the incident involved a knife and two students were injured. They said this was a student-on-student incident; no intruder entered the building.

All individuals believed involved are in police custody, officials said.

Monhagen school is in lockdown, officials said.

Officials said the scene is secure and parents are asked not to go to the scene.

Police from several jurisdictions are at the school complex as the investigation is ongoing.
