Afternoon shooting on Lodi Street sends man to hospital, police say

Syracuse, N.Y. — A 35-year-old man was injured in a shooting Thursday on the North Side of Syracuse, police said.

Around, 2:36 p.m., officers responded to home in the 1300 block of Lodi Street for a reported shooting, said Lt. Matthew Malinowski, a Syracuse police spokesperson. When police arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound to the midesection, he said.

The 35-year-old was taken to Upstate University Hospital where he is expected to survive, Malinowksi said.
