State police arrested a man in Steuben County after a shooting in the town of Avoca.
According to a press release from NYSP, Terry C. Long Jr., age 50, shot a 47-year-old female inside a residence at 8653 Wagner Hill Road.
The female victim sustained a facial injury and was transported to Noyes Hospital, then was later transferred to Strong Memorial Hospital and is in guarded condition.
Long was charged with first-degree assault, a Class B felony; and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a Class D felony.
The investigation remains active.
