LAGRANGE – A Route 55 gas station was robbed at gunpoint late Thursday night resulting in heavy police activity in the vicinity of Manchester Road (Route 55) and Noxon Road in LaGrange.
Dutchess County 911 received a report of an armed robbery at the Valero gas station juset after 10 p.m. The caller indicated they had just watched the crime through remote surveillance. The caller stated they were not at the station.
Multiple units from the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office and State Police responded to the area while dispatchers continued to get information from the caller.
The suspect was described as a man dressed in all black clothing, and wearing a mask, who displayed a black handgun.
The caller indicated that the suspect took all of the money from the register before leaving the store.
Dutchess County 911 advised responding officers that the suspect had fled north from the Valero on foot.
Police were reported to be interviewing potential witnesses at the Hudson River Housing Gannett House shelter on Manchester Road about an hour later.
