STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Police allege they recovered a loaded gun from a man who was part of a group that stole a car in Tompkinsville.
Alfredo Marquez, 21, of Warren Street in the Stapleton Houses, and Mark Thompson, 19, of Richmond Road in the Berry Houses, were arrested on Wednesday and a third individual remains at large in the theft of a 2009 Toyota Sienna that same day at about 8:50 a.m. on the 300 block of Victory Boulevard near Cebra Avenue, according to the criminal complaint and police.
The keys were inside the car and it was left running by its owner, according to a source with knowledge of the investigation.
All three suspects entered the car and Marquez drove the SUV away from the location, the complaint alleges. About an hour later, police located Marquez in the vicinity of Mulberry Avenue and Rockville Avenue in New Springville.
