The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office says the sex offender at the center of a public lewdness investigation in the city of Canandaigua has been arrested on new charges.
Paul Goodrell, 54, of Canandaigua, who was arrested for public lewdness and endangering the welfare of a child after exposing himself to a 7-year-old at a grocery store in Canandaigua earlier this month now faces new public lewdness and child endangerment charges.
The Canandaigua man, who is a Level 3 sex offender residing on County Road 50, is accused of exposing himself to a child under the age of 12 on December 6 at the Tops grocery store in Farmington.
He was placed under arrest at his home and transported to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment.
As was the case in the previous incident that drew criticism from local residents – Goodrell was released on his own recognizance.
