Photos of Staten Island’s first SantaCon: Scores of Christmas-clad attendees pack borough bars

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Staten Islanders came out in droves to celebrate the spirit of Christmas and all things jolly at the borough’s own edition of SantaCon on Saturday.

Staten Island’s 1st Annual SantaCon was held at various bars and restaurants, from Stapleton to Annadale, on Dec. 23. The holiday pub crawl of local brews and holiday eats transported guests to several restaurants along train stops across the borough

Beginning at 2 p.m., attendees were able to visit five restaurants situated along the Staten Island Railway. Wynwood in Stapleton, Hop Shoppe in Stapleton, Cypress Hall in Dongan Hill, Richmond Republic in Eltingville, and District in Annadale were the five dining locations Santa enthusiasts were able to visit.

Attendee Joe Cristiano said, “It’s great and awesome, Staten Island will make a name for themselves.”

Each location had its own specialty holiday beverage and food menu.
