The Ithaca Police Department reports that they are searching for the suspect involved in an overnight burglary on Highland Place.
During the early-morning hours on Christmas Eve, police responded to the 100 block of Highland Place for a burglary-in-progress. The victims reported seeing an unknown person inside their house on surveillance footage.
When police arrived, the suspect had left.
The suspect was described as a black male, with average build, wearing a dark-colored hoodie with dark-colored knit cap and black mask. The suspect also had a thin black mustache and tattoo of a flower on his right hand.
An additional burglary took place in the college town area the night before around the same time and it appears as though the same suspect was involved in both.
The investigation remains active and no one is in custody at this time. Police are asking for the publicโs help as the investigation continues.
