Injured hiker rescue in Harriman State Park

HARRIMAN – First responders rescued a hiker who fell about 25 feet off a cliff in Harriman State Park at around 7:15 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

The Woodbury Fire Department and other EMS personnel were dispatched for the man who was reported to have sustained a broken leg and jaw from the fall.

The injured hiker was found about 1.5 miles into the woods after falling from the cliff.

He was given first aid, evacuated from the woods, and was flown out via medevac.

It took first responders about three hours reach, treat, remove the injured man and sent him to the hospital for treatment.
