Police were looking Thursday for two suspects who broke into a home in Queens earlier this month and stole nearly $180,000 in cash and property.
NYPD officials said they do not believe the alleged thieves targeted the apartment near 136th Street and Booth Memorial Avenue in Queensboro Hill, but they made off with $130,000 in cash and an additional $44,000 in property shortly after 10 a.m. on Dec. 4.
It was not clear what kind of property the two male suspects took, but according to police, they pulled up to the home in a gray SUV and one of them stayed in the car as a lookout while the other broke into the home. They then fled in the car with the stolen items, the NYPD said.
On Thursday, police released a photo of the alleged getaway driver, who has black hair and appeared to be wearing a black sweatshirt with a white Lacoste logo. They did not release any images of the other suspect.
No injuries were reported in the incident, and police said the investigation remains ongoing. People with any information about the incident are asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477), 1-888-57-PISTA (74782) for Spanish, or submit tips at the Crime Stoppers website.
