TROY – City police said they used a search warrant Thursday at a 3rd Avenue, Lansingburgh address that led to the arrest of a man who harbored cocaine, fentanyl, ketamine, heroin and over $50,000.
Several hundred grams of illegal drugs were collected. The suspect, 38, of Troy, was arraigned on eight felony possession counts and sent to the Rensselaer County jail. Saratoga County sheriff’s deputies assisted in the case.
Troy police said efforts of the department’s Special Operations Section detectives are focused on the dangerous drugs being sold in the community where there have already been several fatal overdoses this year.
Weapon conviction brings prison term
ALBANY – Kyle Brush, 35, of Earlton was sentenced to 4½ years in state prison and three years of post-release supervision Friday afternoon, the Albany County district attorney’s office said.
On Feb. 3 he pleaded guilty to felony criminal possession of a weapon. A superior court information alleged that in October at Walmart in the town of Bethlehem, he illegally possessed an assault weapon. Assistant District Attorney Bryanne Perlanski handled the prosecution of this case.
Boy, 16, accused of phone robbery
HALFMOON – Saratoga County sheriff’s deputies last week charged a 16-year-old boy from Halfmoon with first-degree robbery for a March 21 incident on Route 9 in Halfmoon.
He allegedly lured man to a business on Route 9 to complete a Facebook Marketplace transaction for a cellphone then tried to flee with it without paying but was pursued by the victim, deputies said.
The teen threatened the victim with a knife before continuing run off. No one was injured.
