Jimmy Kimmel rips Aaron Rodgers

Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel tore apart Aaron Rodgers in his return to the “Jimmy Kimmel Live” Monday night, his first TV appearance since Rodgers suggested Kimmel’s name would appear on Jeffrey Epstein documents. In a lengthy monologue, Kimmel said the New York Jets quarterback either truly believes his “reckless” claims about a celebrity pedophile ring, or “he just said it because he’s mad at me for making fun of his top knot and his lies about being vaccinated.” Kimmel also took aim at Rodgers’ intelligence, including past comments about Covid and UFO conspiracy theories: “Aaron Rodgers has a very high opinion of himself. Because he had success on the football field, he believes himself to be an extraordinary being,” Kimmel said. “Aaron got two A’s on his report card and they were both in the word ‘Aaron.’” Rodgers said he would address the growing feud on Pat McAfee’s ESPN show Tuesday. Kimmel said he would accept an apology and “move on,” but doesn’t expect Rodgers to make amends.

Prince’s ‘Purple Rain’ headed for stage

Prince’s “Purple Rain” is being adapted into a stage show, 40 years after the iconic movie and soundtrack were released in 1984. Billboard reports the adaptation will feature a score by Prince, a book by Pulitzer Prize finalist Branden Jacobs-Jenkins based on the original screenplay, and be directed by Tony nominee Lileana Blain-Cruz. “Purple Rain,” which featured the songs “When Doves Cry,” “Let’s Go Crazy,” “I Would Die 4 U” and the titular anthem, starred Prince as The Kid, a rock musician battling personal demons and rival music groups. A world premiere is in the works, and a Broadway run sounds likely.
