Another storm is headed our way this weekend.
After Staten Island was battered by two soaking, windy rainstorms in recent days, a third is forecast to hit the five boroughs this weekend.
The rain is predicted to start on Friday night, with the precipitation continuing into early Saturday morning. Staten Island could receive about an inch and a half of rain.
There will also be blustery winds that could gust between 50 and 60 mph and isolated flash flooding is possible.
The most recent storm here on Tuesday night into Wednesday flooded streets, downed trees and knocked out power across the borough. This coming storm could be very similar to that one, forecasters told the Advance.
Gov. Kathy Hochul is considering legislation that would grant New York City the authority to lower its own speed limits.
An effort to pass such a bill, dubbed โSammyโs Lawโ after a 12-year-old Brooklyn boy who was struck and killed by a car in 2013, failed last year.
New York City must currently seek permission from the state in order to lower speed limits, a situation that Hochul called โridiculous.โ
The city in recent years lowered its default speed limit on residential streets to 25 mph.
Staten Island officials have historically opposed lowering speed limits further in the cityโs most car-dependent borough.
Ire remains after the city reduced the speed limit on the entirety of Hylan Boulevard to 30 mph. That roadway had speed limits of 30, 35 or 40 mph depending on the area.
